one number is incorrect in bank account number for direct deposit and it won't let me change it

how can i edit the the bank account number

If you already e-filed, you cannot correct the banking information.

 

If you have NOT e-filed:

You have to go to Step 2 in the FILE section.

You cannot  change banking information while your return is in pending, nor can you change it after the return is accepted.  The IRS does not allow it.
