OMG!!! How do I receive my FULL refund?!?

So, I filed my taxes through turbo tax, as I have done since 2018, WITH ZERO ISSUES…..this year I was blown away when I seen what I got back verses what it said (and still says) I was getting back. I got less than half of what it said I was getting…..I do not have any offsets, I looked over everything, 3 times……calling turbo tax and the irs is POINTLESS, because turbo tax told me to call the irs, and the irs only has the automated bots, so upon calling 5 times with ZERO help or an actual human to talk to, I gave up and turned to this forum……someone please help me get to the right place.

Did you request to have your TurboTax account fees paid from your federal tax refund?  If so, the refund was sent to the third party processor.  You will have to contact them about your federal tax refund.

Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.

TurboTax does not receive any kind of tax refund, federal or state.

If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.

For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/

How much is missing? Check 1040 line 30. A common reason this year is if you tried to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit (for the 3rd Stimulus 1,400 per person) when the IRS already sent it to you. Line 30 is only if you didn't get the full amount or qualify for more. Not the amount you already got.

Or you might have tried to claim too much for line 28 Child Tax Credit.

one half, one tenth, maybe even none and now there is an amount you owe.

If you claimed EIP3 on line 30 in error, IRS will make the correction.

IRS will send a letter that should help explain why they made a change. Often the letter just lists possible reasons for an adjustment. not your actual reason.
