Old PC is locked up and no access to files, unable to get tax files, what can you retrieve?

Old PC is locked up and unable to access files, thus can not retrieve tax files from it.

Sorry if you used the Desktop program last year then the only copy was on your computer and Turbo Tax doesn't have a copy even if you efiled it.  Did you make any backups?  You need the file ending in .tax2016 to transfer into 2017.  What happened to your old PC?  Can you take the hard drive out and put it in a cheap external enclosure to access it?
