Was finally able to get through to an actual human being at NJ Dept of Taxation. Dial 609 292 6400, option 5. Keep dialing back until you get through the message saying due to high call volume your call cannot be transferred to an agent. Eventually you will get through. Spoke with an agent who took my info, researched the status. I have been told my return "just" moved to Approved. Will give it a day or so to confirm online.

Anyone else in NJ file before end of Jan still waiting for return to progress past "Processing" on NJ's Tax Refund status webpage?
Hi, our NJ tax refund is also sitting in "processing" status since early February. We submitted online on January 31, 2025.

There's something wrong with TurboTax.
If you are expecting a refund, go to NJ taxation website to see what NJ thinks about your tax return.
I filed 3/7 and was refunded 3/18. did not use TurboTax.
Processing is different from pending.
If NJ has your tax return, any delay is due to NJ not TurboTax.

Accept 1/28 still "processing". Why have people who filed at the end of Feb getting their return before me? I am never using turbotax again.
I call them and they asked to resubmit everything: tax return, ids, w2s. I have no idea what happened. Now, they're telling us we have to wait another 90 days!!
Good grief. I just checked on mine to see if it had moved from Checking for Accuracy....only to see it has moved back to Processing. Just called NJ Taxation again. Told it is still approved, waiting for the "system" to generate a payment date. Less than impressed.
Hey, i'm curious how you were able to get connected to the taxation office? every time i try it always says that the representatives are unavailable and that I should call back at a later time.
Just keep hanging up and dialing again and choosing option 5. May take 10mins, 20mins, eventually you will get through.

Same with me. NJ "accepted" my return on Feb 6. Today is April 7 and it's still showing as "Processing".
Finally approved. I checked Sunday and was approved for DD April 10th. If you called and they said everything looks good just hang in their it looks like. For some reason they seem to be extra slow this year.
Did you call them on the phone like other people did? Or you just waited 2.5 months and they finally processed it?
I called about 2 weeks ago and they told me everything looks good no notices or holds and to just wait it out.
Hey so I actually got my stuff sorted out last week. Keep calling and pressing 5. I had to call like 65 times for them to respond rather than get a dumb automated reply. The guy on the phone confirmed a few things with me (routing number, name, address, social security #) and he found out there was no issues and he said he sent it over. It’s now in the “checking for accuracy” phase. All in all, just keep calling, they’ll eventually pick up.
Mine is the same. Finally moved into "Approved" status with a note saying payment is due April 10. Clearly there is something wonky going on at NJ Tax Dept. Just keep calling. Hopefully this is the last post from me on this subject. Appreciate everyone who chimed in. Definitely helped to know I was not alone in what I was experiencing. Until next year all.......
Update: Called the same number everyone else did. Took about 10 tries to get the automated machine to answer and put me in the queue. Waited on hold about 10 minutes until a live person answered. He asked me a few questions (SSN, name, address, phone number, amount owed, verify a few lines on my NJ1040, bank account info) and after another 5-10 minutes said that my return was approved. He said to check the website in a few days for a date when the refund will hit my bank account.
