Are you using the California Where's My Refund page? The page may have had a technical issue when you checked a few days ago. You might check it again if you haven't already.
California taxpayers also have the option to register real time for a MyFTB account to get most of the answers they need. Visit FTB.ca.gov and search Create a MyFTB Account or see this FTB webpage and open the drop-down choices under Customer Service for more options.
