I do not know the exact reason that your state did not refund the amount that you were expecting to receive, but one common reason that could have resulted in your refund being lower than you expected, is that your refund was reduced, either to correct a calculation error or through a refund offset. You may wish to contact your State Department of Revenue to determine if they have offset your refund (kept some for a debt you may owe).

My va tax refund was lower than what I was supposed to get by over $200 and I’m not sure why, there’s no explanation on the va return website.
I called the offset number and there is no offsets under my sis.but my refund is over 500 that they shorted me.

If you are referring to the IRS federal refund, you will receive a letter from them in the mail in a few weeks explaining the difference or if it is the State, it will come from your State.
TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS or the State once the refunds are accepted.

Im tax was 1169.45. But i only got back 845. I did use my tax to pay for it.
