My son (under 19) already did his taxes and claimed himself. How do I fix that mistake (as we provided for more than 1/2 of his care)

My son, that still lives with us etc, has already done his taxes and mistakenly claimed himself. He made about 12,000 last year, so I'm not sure if we can claim him, but we def. supplied more of his care than if he were on his own. I'm not sure if I need to add his income to ours, or just ignore it all and file anyway with him as our dependant.

If he is under age 19 and did not provide more than half of his support you can claim him. But if you try to do that now you will have to mail your return since it will be rejected by efile since he didn’t check the box on his return saying that someone else can claim him. You don’t add his income to your return. He has to amend his return.
