My son did his taxes in February of this year. He amended his taxs for me to claim him. When can I send mine in and know they won't be rejected?

I tried to resend today and it was once again rejected because his ss number had been used.  The amendment was suppose to take care of that for me to claim him.

Sorry you have to print and mail your return even if he amends.  Once his ssn has been efiled you can't efile it again.   Amending won't clear it.   So you didn't need to wait for him to amend.

And be prepared for a long wait if you are getting a refund.   The IRS is taking 6 months or more to process mailed returns.
