My refund check was exactly $1500 less than my expected refund. After 10 weeks I have received no letter from IRS explaining any adjustments. What action should I take ?

A tax advisor looked over my account and could not find anything wrong.  I was basically short changed without any explanation.  This seems unusual.  To whom should I write a letter or what other action could I take ?

Call the IRS or look at your refund status to see if it was reduced.

Check your refund stratus here:

Thank you.  I did and it just says refund sent in the [incorrect] amount. which does not match my filing.

Thanks for that.  Interesting.  I dont think it applies to me, but maybe  I will call that number just to check.  Maybe someone thinks I owe them money from somewhere.

Both my SS# and my wife's SS# came up nothing.   But that was  a good thing to check.

Then check your IRS account to see if you owed the IRS back tax.
