My PDF wont upload for me to print.

Its for Illinois taxes, I have to print it off because I don't live in Illinois. But when clicking the download button it doesn't show anything?

It downloaded to your computer, probably.   Go to your File Explorer (Finder on a Mac) and check in your download folder.   You should see something like TaxReturn.pdf.

So if this is for Illinois, do I just mail it?

See here for information on the availability of Federal and State forms in TurboTax and which can be e-filed. Both Form IL-1040 and Schedule NR can be e-filed.

If you are using a Desktop version, you can choose to mail the Illinois return if you don't wish to pay the e-filing fee for the state.

If you are an Illinois nonresident, you must file Form IL-1040 and Schedule NR if

  • you earned enough taxable income from Illinois sources to have a tax liability ( i.e., your Illinois base income from Schedule NR, Step 5, Line 46, is greater than your Illinois exemption allowance on Schedule NR, Step 5, Line 50), or
  • you want a refund of any Illinois Income Tax withheld in error. You must attach a letter of explanation from your employer.

See this Illinois DOR webpage for more information.

Thank you so much! You have been so so helpful! Can you just tell me how to e-mail it in?

You cannot e-mail in your tax return. If you cannot e-file it, you must mail the return.

How do I E-File it?

When you have finished with all of your returns, and you reach the File section, TurboTax asks if you want to file both the Federal and State returns. If you already filed your Federal return but didn't e-file the state at that time, see this help article

If you e-file your federal return by itself, you must wait for it to be accepted before you can e-file your state. Or, you can paper-file your state return whenever you're ready.
