My NYS return status says my return may require further review? What does this mean. It seems very vague.

Hi,

The states and feds can hold up an look at any return for any reason at any time.  If they require something from you they will send you a letter. Respond promptly and truthfully as directed.  Many states are implementing new security protocols which is delaying the processing of returns so all you can do is wait patiently for some word.

Did you get it back yet? Mine says the same

I got the same message when i checked. I got my fed back.

I has been saying this for a long time and it hasn't changed but it's frustrating as hell, I got my federal back awhile ago I filed feb 6th an still no state yet.

mine just changed to being processed today no longer saying further review i hope that means good news

What is the maximum days to process if it says under review mine was accepted Jan 24th until now

Still says the same thing no update but it's frustrating

Just got my DDD of 3/20 after waiting for a new message for over a month

Accepted 02/24 and still says may need further review smh

I was accepted 1/26 Dominique.blue12 and still nothing

Mines was accepted feb 2nd and still under review

Mine went from further review for over a month back to processing. So now we wait for  a DDD.

I filed jan29 accepted the same day .. went under further review feb 10th .. and today it went back to “ your return is being processed .. this is no further information “ hopefully that’s a good sign

I hope so too. My friend  had the same thing she happen..  She said she received  a DDD about 7-10 days later. Its so frustrating.

Ok so mines changed to processing after a month plus of a review message

Mine changed from under review to processing. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive your return after it switches to processing?

I filied 1/31/18 process about 2 days later. About 2/10. We to May need 90 day review on 2/15. I got a message to cal a 518 number, which then told me I need to send w-2. Submit that on the same day online with out receiving my letter in mail. Today 3 /11/18.  I have a new message ... We have received your return and it is being processed. No further information is available at this time.... Anyone else have this???? I hope I helped someone else

Loveme2020: I got the same message too. I went from "May Require Further review" to "my refund is being processed. No info at this time"

Hopefully we get our Fed's soon

This may result in your New York return taking longer to process than your federal. I’ve never had this happen to me before but I’ve also never used turbo tax before to do my taxes. I’m getting worried. Will I ever get my state refund ???
