My money has been taken from me and I don't know why ? 6 thousand four hundred dollars they only gave me 2 hundred and seventeen of it ?? What is going on ?

normally, only the tax authorities can answer your question. however, if you got an advance that was taken out of your refund. If it's an IRS change you should receive a notice in 2 to 3 weeks explaining the changes or you can call the iRS or schedule a visit to a local IRS office. 

Or....did you receive just a state refund and not federal yet?  They do not arrive at the same time.  If the amount you are referring to is your federal refund and it was changed from over six thousand to only about two hundred dollars by the IRS you will receive a letter in a few weeks, or you can check on the IRS refund site to see if there is some message there.
