My husband I got married last year, but both of us did not fill out new W-4 forms at our jobs to change our status to married, so we had more taxes taken out. How do we get back that tax money?

Your refund will be based on the amount of your wages, how much was withheld overall, and your tax liability.  Your W-4 for your employer does not dictate how you file. If you find that you need to adjust your W-4's for 2017 you can do that for the coming year.
