My husband and I are taking the Standard Deduction. I had entered our est taxes and was told that I didn't need to enter this. Are est taxes deductions?

If you are referring to estimated state tax paid, you would not enter that if you are taking the standard deduction.

Well you do have to enter both federal and state estimates paid to get credit for them.  They won't affect your Standard Deduction.

For 2019 Federal Estimated payments should be on schedule 3 line 8.  And go to 1040 line 18d.

You can type estimates paid in the search box at the top of your return and click Find and it will give you a link to Jump To it.

OR

To enter Federal or State Estimated Taxes Paid, including a state estimated payment made in January for the prior year, go to

Federal on left or at top.  Personal (Home & Business)

Deductions and Credits at top

Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid

Estimated Taxes - click the start button
