No, you did nothing wrong. A pending state return is not unusual. Your state will show that way until your federal return has been accepted by the IRS (not accepted by TurboTax). It can only be e-filed once federal is accepted.

The IRS officially started to accept e-filed returns today, January 29, 2018. When will the IRS start accepting e-filed returns?

Why is my state e-file still pending?

Even if you filed your federal and state returns at the same time, your state may not start processing it at the same time as the IRS.

It's not unusual for state returns to remain in pending status several days after a federal return has been accepted. This is especially common when e-filing first opens in January or early February.

Sit tight and your state return will (eventually) move along in the queue.
