My federal return is still in rejected status and turbo tax will not allow me fix it. i had to ammend my state return and now i am due a fed refund due to changes in UE

What is the rejection code for the federal tax return?

When the federal tax return is rejected the state return will also be rejected.  A state tax return that was never accepted by the state cannot be amended.  You must file the original tax return, not an amended tax return.

You got issues ... if the fed was reject so was the state which means you cannot amend either return.  You had to correct the rejection issue and resend both returns.  Now you need to undo the amendment process so you can efile the original returns. 

You should click "Cancel Amendment" on the left side of your screen.  

Next, follow these steps to refile your returns:

• Click "File" from the left side of your screen
• Go to Step 3 (if needed, revisit Steps 1 and/or 2 to activate Step 3).
• Proceed, and make sure you've selected the option "I want to E-file"
• Continue through until you get to and choose "Transmit My Returns Now"
