My Federal refund amount was $3 more than expected

Hello - My expected federal refund amount was supposed to be $4,308, but amount deposited was $4,311. Has this happened to any of you? Should I call IRS instead?

I would not be concerned with this.  The IRS may have made an adjustment or corrected an error on your filing.

 

You may or may not (due to the small amount) receive a notice from the IRS explaining the change.

How long has return been processing?  That may be interest due from IRS after April 15, 2021  deadline.

I filed early last week and received the refund today. So I wouldn't think it is interest.

Wow that was quick. Good to hear.  I've got to agree with Ray, they'll send you a notice about what it was.

Could it be that TurboTax rounds numbers down and IRS actually used the correct numbers without rounding? Saying this because the refund I received has cents amount too, $4,311.89.
