My deceased father's taxes FORM 4506

Hello!

I am wondering if I need to obtain & return a Form 4506 from the IRS before I can begin to start my Dad's taxes for 2024 (I realize it is late, but so is he, lol)

 

Is there pertinent information on his 2023 taxes filed that will benefit me, or can I attempt to file 2024 without it?

Very sorry for your loss. No one in this forum can tell you if your father's 2023 return contains information --like any carryovers--that you will need in order to file his 2024 return.   If you cannot find a copy in his records, then you can try requesting a copy from the IRS.
