My computer crashed. Is there a way through TurboTax to recover my return history?

Does TurboTax save my tax return history?

Did you use the Online web version or the Desktop CD/Download program?  If you used Online your info and return is still online.   If you used the Desktop program the only copy is saved on your computer and any backups you made.

If you used desktop software downloaded/installed from a CD to your own computer, then the tax files are stored locally on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.  They are not stored online.  If you cannot recover them due to a hard drive failure, etc. you can get a free transcript from the IRS or for a fee of $43, an actual copy of your tax return.

If you used online TurboTax the returns are saved in your account for seven years.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.
