My 15 year old earned 475.24 do I need to file a tax return for her or under myself

She earned this from a part time summer job. I claim her on my tax return. Do I still need to file a separate return for her? Seems like a waste of time

She is not required to file because she is under the income limits. However, if she had any federal taxes withheld she may want to file to get that money back. She will simply file a return stating that she will be claimed as a dependent on someone else's return.

She only paid 22.79 in Federal taxes is that really worth it

That is 100% a personal decision but she definitely should be eligible to file for free if that's what you decide.
