MV-1 credit. When I entered my credit, my refund went down. I expected my refund to go up or at least stay the same. Can anyone explain this to me?

You do not say whether you are using the online software or desktop download.   By any chance were the words "Tax Due" next to or near the amount that went down when you added that credit?

I am using the online version and there was not a “tax due” showing. My refund recalculated and when the summary page came back up it he WV refund was $69 less. I took out the MV-1 and my refund went back up.
