IRS had officially sent me a letter about my 2021 Economic Impact Payment. I am supposed to receive 1,400 extra, making my refund 2,345, but I only received 1,035. I called and called, but no one is doing anything to fix this. Please fix this immediately.
Are you saying that the IRS communication specifically named the 2021 Economic Impact Payment as what changed on your tax return?
If you did not receive $1,400 for the third stimulus payment, the IRS may think that you were already issued the third stimulus payment. Is that what you were told on the IRS communication?
At your IRS online account, you can find whether a payment was issued to you that you did not receive. You can also find this information on your tax transcript.
If you need to trace a payment that the IRS says has been issued to you, mail or fax a completed IRS Form 3911, Taxpayer Statement Regarding Refund.
Did you receive a notice that the IRS has an offset against your refund? The Department of Treasury’s Financial Management Service can be reached at 1-800-304-3107 to see whether there is an offset against your account.
