Hi, I filed on 1/28/25 but today on the 29th I got a state rejection for Minnesota with this description:
The error you got isn't your fault; it's due to updates to forms that affected some Minnesota returns. As you mentioned, there'll be an update available on January 30, 2025. If you are using TurboTax Online the update will be done automatically. If you use a Desktop version of TurboTax, you will need to do a manual update.
You will need to go back to your state return, ensure that all the information is still accurate, make any changes as needed, and re-submit your tax return.
Feel free to reach out again if you have any additional questions.
Was curious about it as well, guess I'll resend it in the morning!
turbo tax or the state of MN need to pay for this error not just "we're sorry" is not acceptable or how u do good business
As of 1/30, I still can't file my Minnesota Return after it was rejected on 1/29, 2025. TurboTax needs to fix it as soon as possible. I paid for my state return.
I still can't refile it again, after it was rejected yesterday.
Mine got approved this morning, went threw and reviewed it and it updated the files and everything. Hope that helps.
I deleted the property tax form and reviewed it again. Now, it allowed me to e-file it. Thanks.
did do yours through the app or online? Mines keep getting rejected for crp form but evertything is correct
Yes, after I reviewed it and deleted the property tax return.
I saved it to my computer first and then deleted it from TurboTax.
Yes, I did try to refill out property tax return, but it won’t allow me to submit it online. That’s why I deleted it, then I was able to re-efile it, and got accepted.
No, I will use the information from TurboTax to e-file in Minnesota state online system. It is free.
Minnesota state taxes still not transmitting. Thought was supposed to be available January 30th. Tried the update still no?
Yeah it’s still not working . I’m not sure when they’ll fix the issue or what to do. I do not want to mail them in
I have had my return rejected repeatedly due to what it is saying is an error in my M1PR form for a renter's tax credit. This is the exact message.
To file electronically, please double-check the Certificate of Rent Paid and make sure you have entered the Managing agent's First and Last Name at the bottom of the Property Owner Smart Worksheet." |
It says the name of the agent isn't listed, which it is, and I don't even qualify for the credit anyway. If I go back and just un-tick the box that makes TurboTax go through the rent credit procedure, then it says I need two other forms, which I don't have because I got the M1PR and entered all the info correctly.
There is a section on the bottom which asks if I rent form a business or individual. I rent from an individual so I selected that. However, in the section to fill out if it were a business, it does ask for the managing agents name, which I initially didn't fill out since it was managed by an individual. So I went back and put something in that section. Again, rejected. It's maddening. As far as I can tell I've done everything right. So why won't this work?
I am not sure why it isn’t working and they act like they don’t understand either so what do we do
I've called their help line twice. Nothing works. It won't file. Now they're saying I have to mail it in again, which is dumb since their whole thing this year is about having all the options on the site. The problem NOW is that it tells me instructions to mail it in are on page one of my forms if I print them. I downloaded them. No instructions. I'm not sure what to do.
In the same boat. State got rejected 3 times due to the CRP form being incorrect when theres literally no errors. Not sure what to do and how to mail it without instructions
I have been trying to file with the app for a few days now, and my state keeps getting rejected for no reason. I have tried clicking on fix over and over again and still it will not take. No updates available.
According to the TT website, the property tax forms will not be available until 2/13/25. You should be able to successfully efile then. Good luck!
