See this TurboTax support FAQ for the Mac minimum system requirements using the TurboTax desktop software - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/system-requirements/help/minimum-system-requirements-for-turbotax-mac-software/00/25609

If you need to do 2017 and earlier, those years are not supported so you can't update the programs or download any state programs you need.   Turbo Tax only sells and supports the last 3 years.

TurboTax no longer sells or supports software for earlier tax years than 2018.   You will not be able to get the software for 2014-2017 from TurboTax.   Even if you find it on eBay, etc. you will not be able to get updates or support.   If you are behind all the way back to 2014 taxes you should seek local paid tax help.   And it is not possible to get refunds for tax years earlier than 2018----any refunds for 2017 or earlier have been forfeited.   If you owe tax due though you still have to pay with penalties and interest.   A paid tax pro may be better equipped to help you negotiate with the IRS if you owe a lot.

The answers do not provide MAXIMUM MacOS compatible version nor Windows.

In addition, the question does not ask about downloading turbo tax. In fact, the versions (federal and state) were all downloaded while I was ill for over 5 years.

Except for 2014 & 2015 they will all work on Catalina (and later).    (2014 & 2015 had a problem created by an Apple compatibility with OSX 10.13.4 and requires a script to run, but that script - and the server where it lived - are gone since those years are not supported anymore.)     If you have 2014 and 2015 installed and ran the script while it was there then they should work.
