Last April 2023 I bought a used Nissan Leaf and I was told that I would qualify for the tax credit. The list only goes down to 2017. Why not older than that?

Does the 2016 Nissan Leaf qualify for the electric car tax credit?

The IRS Form 8936 Clean Vehicle Credit for tax year 2023 has not been finalized in TurboTax.

The form is scheduled to be available on 02/21/2024.

Go to this TurboTax website for forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...

You may be looking at the wrong table.

Enter your vehicle's information in Federal Tax Credits for Pre-owned Plug-in Electric and Fuel Cell Vehicles to see if it qualifies for the new credit.

See the IRS' Used Clean Vehicle Credit and Clean Vehicle Tax Credits for more information.

As DoninGa notes above, the form for this year isn't yet up to date in TurboTax.  You can track its availability in TurboTax's Tax form availability app.
