It's been 7 months since I filed my taxes and my federal refund status still says “Accepted”

I filed through TurboTax and my Federal Return was accepted 1/29/2024. Since then, the status on my refund has not updated on the IRS website from being accepted, and there's no indication that I need to call. They've made no attempt to reach out to me to amend anything or for more information. I'm not sure what to do, as I'm owed a refund and before you know it, it'll be the next tax season!

@jadanuri  I would suggest a call to the IRS and see what they have to say about if they are waiting for  something from you  ( lost mail ? ).   Also if possible a visit to the local IRS office may be in order.

Set up account with irs.gov to view your tax transcripts. They’ll tell you more than Where’s my Refund does. Look for account transcript.

Where are you seeing the word "approved?"    TurboTax only tells you if your e-file was accepted; TT never says your refund was "approved."  Only the IRS can approve of your refund.   If the IRS accepted your e-file, then you need to ask the IRS what they are doing.

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
