This is not a TurboTax issue. As noted above, the IRS got a list from one of the Marketplaces showing your name and SS number. TurboTax does not get a copy of that list - this is totally between the Marketplace and the IRS.

"but the IRS is rejecting my return saying that their database says I got one. " - was this an actual reject on e-filing, or a letter from the IRS? If an actual reject, then you have a few days in which to e-file. Use this time to call the IRS and ask them what to do.

Alternatively, print and mail your return (this bypasses the error checking of the e-file system). If you get the letter from the IRS that they want the 8962 (TurboTax creates the 8962 from the 1095-A), then contact the Taxpayer Advocate Service for help.

One more thought - any chance that someone you know added you to their ACA policy? For this to happen, all it takes is someone like your parent or a relative adding you to their policy, because they think that "it can't hurt".

Delete the 1095-A and Form 8962 that is included in the return now.   How to delete Forms   @abrasivesparky

You may have to file by mail if the IRS believes there is a 1095-A out there with your name on it.

You must have accidentally answered Yes when TurboTax asked whether you received a 1095-A. You have to go back to that question and change your answer to No. To get back to it, type 1095-a in the Search box, then click the link that says "Jump to 1095-a."

Yes, 1095 A form is a basic question asked in Turbo Tax that is answerable by yes or no.  If you purchased health insurance though Healthcare.gov or any State health insurance agencies such as Covered California (for California residents), then you need to answer yes, if you have it.  Otherwise, you answer no to the question.

If you’re saying that the TurboTax program is asking you for Form 1095-A information, you most likely made an entry during the interview that indicated to the program that you received the form.

To get back to that portion of the interview, type 1095-a in the search box in the right corner of your screen, then click the link Jump to 1095-a.

If this isn’t your issue, please provide clarification with more details.  Have you already filed a return?  Is the IRS requesting information from you, based on a return you’ve filed?

To enter your 1095-A, here are the steps.

  1. Open your TurboTax.
  2. Federal > Deductions &  Credits > Medical >  Affordable Care (Form 1095-A) > Start.

The IRS compares the information you enter on your return with what they have in their database. When something is missing or mismatched, your return gets rejected. The IRS internal database indicates that a Form 1095-A should have been or will be received by the taxpayer. The ACA Marketplace providers have until January 31 provide the 1095-A to taxpayers.

this is the error I have received. My received 1095-A question was marked no, but the IRS is rejecting my return saying that their database says I got one. I just verified with the Marketplace provider in Colorado, I am not signed up and did not receive a 1095.

So, whats up TurboTax???
