Is there a way I can remove the Earned Income Credit from my federal return? I'd rather not receive it.

I don't see an option to "reject" the Earned Income Credit in Turbo Tax - is there a way I can remove this credit from my refund?

not sure there is a way to remove it, but if you really don't want it, you can always make out a check to the US Treasury for the amount of the credit and voluntary send them money (I am serious - people do it)

if you override your EIC to zero,

IRS computers will just add it back and send you  an increased refund.

That's a good idea; I didn't think of that. Thank you!

Or donate it to your favorite charity.  Or gift it to someone you love.
