IRS also wants a form proving I had health insurance but I received healthcare through the military and we aren’t issued the form they’re requesting so I’m not sure what to do.
The IRS believes that you should have a 1095-A from the marketplace and a form 8962 in your return ... until you deal with this issue the return will be on hold. So did you call the ACA and ask if you are on any ins policies ? https://www.healthcare.gov/get-answers/
Is it possible that you were on someone else's policy like a parent's for any part of the tax year ? If you were under the age of 27 that could be the issue ... so ask them for a copy of the form and allocate none of the credit to your return if they took 100% of the credit on their return.
You do not enter anything at all about healthcare insurance on your federal tax return UNLESS you had health insurance through healthcare.gov----marketplace insurance--also known as "Obamacare." You do not have that if you are in the military so you should not be entering anything about health insurance or a 1095A. Nothing. Did you answer something incorrectly and say that you had a 1095A?
ACA said I don’t have any marketplace policy. I have a 1095-C being in the military but no 1095-A. I’ve not been on anyone else’s policy since 2018.
When I filed, there was a glitch in the system that would not let me file my return without putting something in for the healthcare portion. One of the advisors on here told me to enter certain numbers so that my return would be accepted and then processed but now it seems that advice has royally screwed me and I cannot reach anyone on the phone.
