IRS shows incorrect income on record

In 2021, IRS found an additional tax liability for the year 2018.

The wage and income transcripts for 2018 were updated by IRS showing additional W2 income and hence additional tax liability. However, I never worked for this employer!

send the notice back with that explanation.  more worrisome is that you may be the victim of identity theft since your SSN is on a W-2 for a company you say you never worked for. also, submit form 14039 with your response,
