IRS mailing check instead of direct deposit

Today we got an update on the IRS status bar that the refund will be mailed to me be Feb 27th. However, I clicked direct deposit and checked to make sure the routing number and account numbers are correct. Called the bank they haven’t rejected anything. Is this normal? Spouse seems to think it has something to do with the child tax credit and fraud protection.

I received this statement today too on the where’s my update tool. We definitely put our information incorrectly and checked it multiple times. We’ve also never had issues with this and it’s going to the same account. Does anybody have a good answer for this? Is it a fluke or will it really be mailed?

@Mdsalinas, please clarify, do you mean you are entering your information "correctly" or in fact "incorrect"?

How you chose to receive the tax refund will be on the Filing Instructions page included with your tax return.

Sign onto your TurboTax online account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down and click on Add a State.  This will take you back to the 2019 online tax return.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Then click on Print Center. Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return.
