IRS demands more payment

The IRS is claiming we owe $5,547.03 more tax.  Claiming my retirement twice, and other income from 2021 that was Covid monies from the state of Michigan for unemployment due to COVID that was supposed to be tax free.    NEED help.

You will need to contact the IRS to resolve an issue where they are trying to claim your retirement income twice.  They are the only ones that can straighten out any errors they have on their part.

 

If you try contacting the IRS and are unable to get things resolved then you can contact you Local Taxpayer Advocate.  They are there to help you resolve issues with the IRS.
