IRS changed tax return

I see the message below on my tax return status, I used TurboTax, why doesn't it reconcile correctly?

Is this a mistake? Here is the message:

We changed the refundable Child Tax Credit amount claimed on your tax return because there was an error on Schedule 8812, Credits for Qualifying Children and Other Dependents, in one of the following:

  • The computation of the credit on Schedule 8812 was incorrect.
  • The amount on Schedule 8812 was not transferred correctly to your tax return.
  • You received advance Child Tax Credit payments but did not reconcile them or you reconciled them incorrectly

we can't see your return.    as a guess, I would say the third item is most likely, followed by the first. the second is unlikely unless you overrode a form but then Turbotax wouldn't allow you to e-file. call the IRS for clarification.

The program asked you how much of the CTC you got in advance and if you entered the wrong amount so the credit was calculated incorrectly based on the info you provided.   However the IRS disagrees with your entry and corrected the credit for you and adjusted the refund accordingly.  This is not a TT failing.

That's the issue - I entered the correct amount from the form that the IRS sent me.
