Invalid direct deposit

When filing my taxes through Credit Karma it asked if I wanted my refund deposited into my Credit Karma Spend Account  so I checked ‘yes’ only to find out 6 days later from customer support  that my account had been closed due to ‘issues’ on their end and when asked why

I was offered that option to an account they knew was closed but I didn’t,  I was told there was nothing they could do. Unsure of how I was even able to file through CK without an active account. Simply saying if Turbo Tax and Credit Karma are going to work together then they actually need to work together. Is there anything I can do at this point or will I have to wait on a paper check?

you can always try calling the IRS to see if you can specify a different bank account. Have no idea if this will work and you can expect a long wait to get through to an agent if you get through at all.

  1. Call 1-800-829-1040 between the hours of 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM local time.
  2. Press “1” for English or “2” for Spanish.
  3. Press “2” for “answers about your personal income taxes.”
  4. Press “1” for “questions about a form you have already submitted or a payment or to order a tax transcript.”
  5. Press “3” for “all other questions about your tax history or payment.”
  6. Press “2” for “all other questions about your tax history or payment.”
  7. Do not input your Social Security Number when the recording tells you to.
  8. Press “2” for “personal- or individual-tax related question.”
  9. Press “3” for “all other inquiries.”
  10. Wait to be connected to someone at the IRS.
