Intuit says IRS accepted my return 02/21/2023, IRS says they didn't get it until 03/01/2023, EFile transmission delayed for a week!

Subject says it all.  I used TurboTax as I did every year to e-file my returns.  I got the usual acceptance emails from Intuit, one stating that my California return was accepted, and one stating that my Federal return was accepted.  The Federal acceptance was dated 02/21/2023.   It's now 24 days later and no refund so I called the IRS.  The IRS researched and said that my return was not received by the IRS until 03/01/2023.   The IRS clock started on that day, which means it will be a month or more from my filing date before I get a refund.

Turbotax customer support couldn't help with this, but I think it's a huge problem that TurboTax federal E-filing transactions are being wrongly reported as accepted when in reality they were stuck in queue and delayed.  Definitely something everyone should be aware of, and something TurboTax should fix!

Once you submit or mail your return, it is out of our hands. To track your federal refund, please look on the IRS Where's My Refund site.

That's a very nice thought, and I appreciate that Intuit even replied to this....  but it turns out that "out of Intuit's hands" is not exactly the case here.  I submitted it on Feb 21, got an Intuit acknowledgement on Feb 21, but it wasn't "out of Intuit's hands" until a full week later.  According to the IRS, it was in a batch that arrived 8 days later.   So, something in the connection between Intuit and the IRS appears to not be as reliable as we'd wished.
