If wife did not get a 2018 W-2, and we used the substitute form thru TurboTax, and it has been a month with no updates, is there anything we should know or do?

Was she suppose to get a W2?  Did the employer take any taxes out of her pay?  Or was she paid as an independent contractor? Or did she get a 1099Misc for it?

She was supposed to get a W-2, and taxes were taken out.

Returns including Form 4852 can't be e-filed per IRS regulations.  You did mail it, right?

Using Form 4852 may delay the tax refunds, since the IRS needs to verify information on the form.
