If my accountant hasn't filed my taxes yet (I own a business) and I filled out the stimulus registration to update irs with my direct deposit info, did I screw up?

So I did the simple return option misunderstanding that it wasn't for people who just simply haven't filed taxes yet. I own a business, an s Corp and our taxes were extended as they are every year until September I believe. But I didn't do direct deposit previous years so I wanted to get my info to the irs. Now I realized it seems this counts as my federal return??? Will this cause serious issues for me? Or will it simple update the irs with my bank info for the Covid-19 stimulus payment?

No, that should not cause an issue with your normal tax return.  The purpose of the registration is to provide the IRS with your bank account information you did not file a tax return.

Ok, thank you so much! I hope you're right. That's what I was thinking but it worded it like it's ONLY for people who aren't obligated to file. But what you said makes sense!
