The IRS issues most refunds in less than 21 days, although some require additional time. You may want to call if it has been:

  • 21 days or more since you e-filed
  • 6 weeks or more since you mailed your return, or when
  •  "Where's My Refund" tells you to contact the IRS

For telephone assistance, see IRS Telephone Assistance. Individuals can call (800) 829-1040, Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM local time.

How long ago was it that you spoke with the lady on the phone who advised that you had nothing else to do?
