If I traveled for work last year, how do I explain that?

The form asks if I lived out of state last year, and technically, I lived in a several different states… but my w2 is from Kansas, so how do I communicate that?

Unless you established a residence in another state, you should indicate that you did not live or work in another state.  Traveling to another state on business is not Living in another state.  If your employer did not report any of your income as having been earned in a state other than Kansas, you don't need to do anything except file your Kansas state return.
