If I received a state tax refund as a married couple last year, but have since divorced, can I enter half the income received on my federal refund and the other half my ex spouse can enter on her tax return ?

I need to add to my federal tax form the state tax refund received last year.  Last year, my wife at the time and I filed jointly.  This year we will be filing separately as we are no longer married.  Can I enter half the amount received as income and she enter the other half on her form?  Otherwise, how would this be equitable?

If you live in a community property state you should each report half of the state tax refund.  If don't live in a community property state, you can allocate anyway you agree.  Each of you claiming half would be fine.
