If I received a CP2000 audit form for my 2016 taxes and paid the amount requested by IRS. Do I need to file an amendment for my 2016 State return after?

I sorted out the CP2000 by responding and paying the amount that the IRS asked for. I assume this covers my Federal tax dues.

I wasn't sure if I needed to file a separate amendment to for my 2016 State tax returns?

Yes, you should amend your state return to take into account the changes that were made to your Federal return.

Most states use the Federal Adjusted Gross Income as their starting point so any changes to your Federal return would most likely change your state return as well.

When you create the amended return in TurboTax, you will need to make the changes on the Federal side by initiating an amended return for your Federal information.  You just will not need to submit the Federal amended return since the IRS already changed it in their system.

Here are instructions to amend using TurboTax.
