If I owe money to places in collection, and it shows on credit karma... will credit karma hold my tax refund or take my money if I do the advance tax option?

I am relying on my refund and plan to pay back a past credit card, but i can't afford for my refund to go towards that when I need it for emergency expenses.

Only the IRS can seize your refund for past taxes owed or other debts. A bank cannot withhold your funds without a court order.
