If I get a letter from the irs asking me to prove my children have lived with me. Should I wait until I receive my refund or will this stop it?

I have filled my taxes which were accepted 2/9/21. I still haven't received it though many people have already gotten theirs. The irs website says it is still being processed and a date will be provided when one is available. Yet I have got a letter saying I need to provide proof my children have lived with me. Will this delay my taxes?

Yes ---you will not get your refund until you provide the information that the IRS is requesting.
