If I forgot to enter an estimated tax payment my wife made. Would that be a reason I got a notice the IRS needs more information?

I got a notice from IRS that they need additional info from the ICO/rejects team but my return was accepted. So I’m curious why they need more info and if that is the reason why

It depends. Generally, they would simply refund the estimated tax payment if it was forgotten on the tax return once the return was reconciled in their systems. However, it could be the reason they want additional information. Be sure to have your proof of payments and any other documentation such as income statements with your tax file so you are prepared for their inquiry. You will know soon enough and it's likely something simple.
