If I close out near the beginning of the return do I loose what Ive done to this point?

Using the TurboTax online editions your information is saved as it is entered.  You can sign off of your online account at any time and return to where you left off when you sign back onto the online account.

No.  Turbo Tax saves what you've done.  You can leave and come back later.  You can use the Online version for 2022 until Oct 16, 2023.  Be sure to know your username and password to log in again.
