If a person claims you in your taxes and you don’t want to be claim any more by that person can they put a stop to it ?

I’ve been claim by my brother in law

It depends.  The IRS allows a person to claim another person as a Dependent on their tax return if ALL of the following criteria listed in the TurboTax FAQ below are met.  If the criteria are not met, then your brother-in-law cannot claim you.
