I was promised a tax return of $1353. However, I only received $180 or something. Out of which, TurboTax tool $167. I want the tax returns I was promised.

I simply want the refund or else give my $167 back

First---check the IRS refund site to see what the IRS says they issued for your refund.   Did the IRS reduce your federal refund for some reason?   If so, the IRS will be sending you a letter in a few weeks to explain why your refund was reduced.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

Was some of the $1353 you expected coming from a state refund?  Federal and state refunds are issued by separate entities and come at different times.

If you have some reason to believe the third party bank that handles refund processing is at fault for a mistake:

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC  (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.

You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com
