I want to be able to print/download prior year tax forms with worksheets. The Add State workaround only works for current year.

I want to be able to print/download my prior year tax returns, like 2018-2022, including all the worksheets.  I can do this for the current year if I follow a workaround where I choose Add a State, and then get into the Tools and Print Center.  Then when I print from there I get the options to include worksheets.  There is no Add a State for prior years, so I can find no way to get the option to include worksheets when I print/download the prior year returns.  I need the ability to see the worksheets when I try to analyze what happened for prior years.  The ability to access the worksheets is a critical feature for me.

Here's how to view, download, and print your prior-year tax returns. You can access returns for the past seven years.

First time signing in this year

Note: If your TurboTax navigation looks different from what’s described here, learn more.

  1. Sign in to your TurboTax account and select Continue on the screen showing your prior-year summary. Make sure you're using the same TurboTax account (user ID) as in prior years.
  2. On the second screen showing product and pricing, scroll down and select Your tax returns & documents.
  3. Select the year you want, then select Download/print return (PDF).

If you've started your return already

Sign in to your TurboTax account. Make sure you're using the same TurboTax account (same user ID) as in previous years.

There are two ways to get your prior-year returns.

  1. Select Documents from the side menu, use the dropdown menu to choose the tax year you want, and select Download tax PDF.
  2. From Tax Home, scroll down and select Your tax returns & documents. Select the year you want and select Download/print return (PDF).

Note: If the year you're looking for isn't there, it might be in a different account. Go here to find all of your accounts. One of them should have the return you're looking for.
