If the IRS asked to verify your ID, I don't know about this year, but in the past it has frequently taken the IRS up to 6-8 weeks after ID is verified to finish processing a return. But "one size does not fit all." Your processing may or may not take that long. As MarilynG1 mentioned above, all you can do at this point is to watch the IRS WMR tool every 3-4 days to see if any messages develop there. If several more weeks go by without any change, we can tell you how to phone the IRS to see if they will tell you anything about it.
