I thought I needed to amend my tax return bc I received a 1098-E today but found it won't make a difference on my refund. I didn't "file" the amend. Will it still amend?
I didn't actually click on "file" for the amend. Since the 1098-E won't make a difference I decided not to click to "file" the amend. Will I still experience a hold up on my return or did it not register and will process like I never tried to amend it?

An amended return (Form 1040X) cannot be e-filed. It can only be filed by mail. If you didn't mail it, you didn't file it, and there is no way for it to get filed as long as you don't mail it.
